  Chandon 2003

The wines are exemplary, thought by many to be the best produced by Moet et Chandon in any of its overseas subsidiary operations, a complex blend of French and Australian style. 5 Star Winery Review - James Halliday

An elegant, fine and supple wine with a fresh, nutty and lightly toasty bouquet whose melon and peach-like fruit is backed by complex nuances of honey and pastry. It’s a little fragile around the mid palate, but offers a creamy, long and refreshing finish of lingering citrus and melon flavour. 90/100 drink 2004-2007) Jeremy Oliver, OnWine

chandonrose
Vibrant aromas of cherry and strawberry characterise the rosé and reflect the Pinot Noir grapes used. These aromas are overlayed with complex nutty notes. The wine rolls onto the palate with typical 'Chandon' creaminess. Lovely, fresh flowers of honey and marmalade characterise this Brut style wine which finishes with beautiful Pinot Noir length.

Jacob's Creek Sparkling Chardonnay Pinot Noir NV

!
jacobs
The Jacob’s Creek Chardonnay Pinot Noir Brut Cuvee is a NV (non vintage) sparkling, gaining both freshness of fruit
flavours and yeast complexity from the inclusion of more than one vintage during assemblage (blending). Cross
blending of vintages also allows the winemaker to achieve consistent quality and style. Typically, the Chardonnay and
Pinot Noir grapes are harvested early in vintage when the grapes have fresh varietal flavours and high natural acidity.
The high acidity is important to the style of this wine, giving the palate a crisp and vibrant finish.

Petaluma Croser Vintage

!
petalumacroser
The cold Chardonnay and Pinot Noir juices were allowed to settle to clarity and then gravitated to 5 years and older Vosges oak barriques for primary fermentation with natural yeasts from a selection of strains from the Petaluma winery and vineyards. Malo lactic fermentation in barrique again with Petaluma’s own selected bacterial strains, softened the high natural acids and introduced complexity to the Croser base wines. Allowed to settle to clarity in barrique the base wines were racked and blended and 2003 Croser was finalised as 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay.

Jansz Premium NV Cuvée

!
jansz

A fine aperitif sparkling showing lifted fruit characters and complexity. Very pale gold in colour with a fine bead and persistent mousse, Jansz Premium NV Cuvée is a Chardonnay-dominant style that has finesse and balance with complexity and length of flavour. The bouquet shows lifted aromas of honeysuckle and citrus fruits from the Chardonnay, with nougat and roasted nuts derived from the tirage age, while the Pinot Noir contributes delicate strawberry. The palate is well balanced with delicate fruit flavours, creaminess and fresh acid, leading to a dry, light finish with lingering flavours of citrus and nougat.

The deliciously crisp palate displays toasty, creamy complexity, enhanced by a lingering nutty finish. Serious bubbles!

"There was a time when lots of Champagne tasted like this - full-bodied, creamy, mature. Very few do nowadays because it takes time and money to create the complexity, the depth and the lovely nutty yestiness that makes this inspiring sparkler." Best Buy, Oz Clarke Wine Buying Guide 2005

This elegant and Chardonnay-predominant style from Cloudy Bay is very crisp, lively and yeasty, with attractive, bready aromas showing good richness, complexity and length. Cuisine Magazine, New Zealand - Michael Cooper -

90**** NV Pelorus. A lighter, fresher wine than the vintage label, thanks to a greater proportion of chardonnay with pinot noir. After fermentation, the wine is matured for eight months in a mix of stainless steel tanks, French oak barriques and large oak vats. It spends at least two years on lees after blending and bottling. The wine has evolved from a very weighty, yeasty style to a fruitier, creamier, more elegant methode. Gourmet Traveller Wine, Australia - Bob Campbell MW -

A rich, weighty and integrated wine, with a good soft texture and impressive length.  Nice autolysis adds an appealing nutty complexity.  This is a full-flavoured Methode, with plenty of character. Home & Entertaining, New Zealand - Bob Campbell -

It's no mean feat that the winemakers and grapegrowers at Cloudy Bay winery in Marlborough can turn out this incredibly elegant, dry, chardonnay-driven bubbly year after year. It's very crisp, very dry and will woo devoted Tattinger fans instantly. The Herald , New Zealand- 'Viva' - Joelle Thomson -

'Ripe yet dry, this is a perfect sparkling wine for a meal.' Decanter, UK - Spurrier's Choice - Steven Spurrier

Rich and bready aromas lead to an intense palate with fineness and racy acidity. Excellent complex drinking

Chandon Sparkling Pinot Shiraz NV

!
chandonshiraz
This wine is predominately from Pinot Noir (65%) with a small amount of Shiraz, rather than the traditional 100% Shiraz Sparkling Reds.  Very ripe Pinot Noir from the Yarra Valley is used as the backbone of the wine and support the mid palate with plump Shiraz from McLaren Vale and Northern Central Victoria.  The wine is aged in old oak and is blended to yield strong dark cherry and cinnamon spice flavours.

Light to medium red-purple; the moderately intense bouquet is clean and relatively straightforward, but with some spicy fruit; the palate does the work, with a good balance of fruit flavours ranging through strawberry, spicy plum and cherry, yet avoiding clumsiness. Well balanced dosage. 93 out of 100 James Halliday
