Jadot is one of the biggest negociant houses in Burgundy. While many of its cheaper wines have left me rather cold in recent years, this top-value young red is fabulous. This vintage was a hot one in France, and a few other examples of Beaujolais I've tasted have been a bit overripe and jammy. This wine, however, has retained the essential bright, juicy, raspberry fruit aroma and, most importantly, the snappy, mouth-watering acidity that makes good Beaujolais so entrancing.
