Mitolo Gam Shiraz 2004

97/100 Robert Parker

Two of Mitolo’s flagship offerings are made from moderately old Shiraz vines in Willunga. Aged 18 months in primarily French oak, the 2004 Shiraz G.A.M. is an exceptional example of a precise yet full-flavored, concentrated Shiraz. Its gorgeous perfume of blueberries, blackberries, camphor, licorice and pain grille is followed by an inky/blue/purplecolored wine offering superb purity, full-bodied richness,
and gorgeous depth as well as texture. This fabulous effort is another example of Ben Glaetzer’s brilliant talents. It should drink well for 15 years.

Moet & Chandon Grand Vintage 2000

moet grand vintage white 2000

Sent in its genuine Moet Grand Vintage 2000 gift box

A superbly crafted vintage Champagne with luxurious honey and yeast flavours with just a touch of spice on its long, elegant finish. Though Moët's NV can be seen in just about every country in the world, it is with their vintage expression that this great house founded its quality reputation.

Fresh white fruits such as peach and pear appear on the nose along with dried fruits, hints of toast and malt notes. The palate is inviting and firm with ample and fleshy fruitiness. This generosity grows, stretching to caramelised and almost mineralised citrus fruits. After hand-picking, the grapes were pressed very gently - only the best juice from the first pressing was used. Grapes from different 'crus' were pressed and fermented in stainless steel tanks separately to imbue complexity to the final blend. After malolactic fermentation, the vats were blended and bottled to undergo secondary fermentation. Aged for 4-5 years on the lees before disgorging.

Dom Perignon 2000 gift box

domperignon 1999 gift box
Dom Pérignon is pure excellence .

And that's thanks to, Richard Geoffroy, who is in charge of making this fabulous Champagne : « Each vintage is unique. It's always the same and yet so different!» .

It takes 7 years! Dom Pérignon 1998 was left to mature for 7 whole years to reach what we consider as perfection .
Aromas you will find are fresh almond, pamplemousse, cajean nuts and warm brioche.
On the palate, it feels like silk so delicate is its touch.
and this just goes on and on sip after sip. According to Richard Geoffroy : « This vintage is successful thanks to the structure. Never has champagne held so well on the palate. As if it will never fade away... It's surprinsing and somewhat bewildering : in a word MAGNIFICENT. »

Rockbare McLaren Vale Shiraz 2005

Jeremy Oliver
2005 was a challenging vintage for McLaren Vale reds, so it’s best to jump quickly when you see one that grabs you. This young shiraz is McLaren Vale to a tee, so you might grab it first. Its spicy, peppery and slightly meaty aromas of dark plums, blackberries
and dusty vanilla oak reveal attractive gamey undertones. It’s long and juicy, delivering an intense, pristine expression of vibrant berry/plum flavour framed by fine, smooth and powdery tannins, with
plenty of assertive, but well balanced oak. Impressively flavoursome, it’s a deliciously approachable red you can drink now.
