V.S is a blend of about 40 eaux-de-vie from the four first growing areas of the Cognac region. Hennessy V.S displays a beautifully bright golden color.The powerful bouquet is dominated by overtones of oak, giving way to reveal a delicate scent of hazelnuts. Intense and floral, V.S combines the sweetness of red fruits with a hint of vanilla that lingers on the palate.
The wine is dark red in colour with deep purple hues. The aroma is of intense cassis and blackberry mingled with tobacco tones. The palate shows concentrated dark fruit flavours with a fine tannin finish giving persistence and length.

For starters, it is hard to find a better Cabernet for the price than Mitolo’s Cabernet Sauvignon Jester, which spent nine months in used French oak prior to bottling. Approximately 20% of the grapes were driedon racks (a traditional Amarone technique) in order to concentrate the flavor. Yet there is no pruny or raisiny character to the wine. It is a dense ruby/purple-tinged offering displaying loads of roasted meat,blackcurrant, and plum aromas, deep, medium to fullbodied flavors, sweet tannin, and an expansive, savory texture. This is a stunning Cabernet Sauvignon to drink now and over the next 7-8 years.

I have not always been an admirer of this label, but this wine swept me away; the clean, smooth, fruit-driven bouquet with its twist of nut and cashew, the almost delicate palate with attractively smooth nectarine and citrus flavours running though to a beguiling finish. 95 out of 100.
